Practice Areas: Al is an experienced corporate lawyer specialising in negotiated acquisitions, joint ventures and private capital fundraising. He is a member of Herbert Smith Freehills’ Global Council and a former head of the legacy firm’s mergers and acquisitions group. Al is co-head of the private equity group in Australia and has represented a number of Australia's leading private equity fund managers on both fundraising and transactional work. Al has also had significant experience in the resources sector, representing BHP Billiton on a number of significant transactions.
